Blinkit to Share Revenue with Visually Impaired Artisans by Selling Their Handcrafted Diyas and Candles This Diwali

Date:

This Diwali, Blinkit is lighting up homes with a deeper purpose. In a heartfelt initiative led by CEO Albinder Dhindsa, Blinkit has collaborated with the Blind Relief Association, Delhi, to bring handcrafted diyas and candles made by visually impaired artisans to select Blinkit stores across Delhi NCR, including Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. The move not only celebrates the festival of lights but also supports the livelihoods of talented individuals who create beauty through their craft.

Supporting Differently-Abled Artisans: Blinkit’s Ongoing Commitment

This initiative is a continuation of its broader efforts to empower differently-abled communities. Last year, Blinkit launched its first ‘Silent Store’ in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar, run by 20 hearing- and speech-impaired employees. This pioneering store operates with innovative training and communication systems, aiming to make Blinkit’s platform more inclusive and accessible. Albinder Dhindsa described the team’s passion and curiosity as inspiring and reiterated Blinkit’s resolve to create more employment opportunities for the specially-abled community.

A Blend of Social Impact and Business Purpose

Beyond diwali diyas and silent stores, their CSR drive includes working closely with NGOs and educational trusts to foster talent in marginalized communities. By integrating social responsibility into the core business, it not only uplifts visually and hearing-impaired individuals but also strengthens its brand as a socially conscious and inclusive market leader. The company continuously explores innovative ways to make its delivery ecosystem more accessible, providing livelihoods and building dignity for the differently-abled.

Why This Matters: Lighting a Path to Empowerment

Every purchase of the handcrafted diyas and candles contributes directly to the livelihoods of visually impaired artisans, amplifying the message that true light is about human spirit and resilience. This Diwali initiative, backed by Albinder Dhindsa is a powerful reminder that business success can go hand-in-hand with meaningful social change, touching lives one diya at a time.
