Apple to Open Third Official Store in India on September 2 at Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia

Date:

Apple is gearing up to open its third official retail store in India, Apple Hebbal, on September 2, 2025. Located at Phoenix Mall of Asia on Bellary Road in Bengaluru, the new outlet will offer Apple’s full product lineup along with free “Today at Apple” sessions, designed to help customers enhance their skills on Apple devices. This launch follows the successful operation of Apple’s stores at BKC in Mumbai and Saket in New Delhi, as the tech giant accelerates its retail expansion across India.

Bengaluru: Apple’s Growing Indian Hub

Bengaluru is fast emerging as Apple’s key base in India. The company recently leased 268,737 sq ft at Embassy Zenith for office operations and an additional 11,000 sq ft for the upcoming retail store at Phoenix Mall of Asia. Earlier in 2024, Apple secured a 410,000 sq ft lease at Prestige Mink Square, making Bengaluru the largest Apple operational hub outside Cupertino.

Manufacturing Shift: From China to India

Amid geopolitical challenges, Apple is shifting significant parts of its manufacturing footprint from China to India. The company plans to move the entire assembly of iPhones destined for the US market to India by 2026. Production of iPhone 17 units has already begun in Bengaluru’s unit of Foxconn.

In fiscal year 2024, approximately 25% of Apple’s global manufacturing output—around 30 to 40 million units annually—originated from India, facilitated through partners like Tata Electronics, Foxconn, and Pegatron.

Strong Growth and Strategic Commitment to India

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently shared that Apple’s India business experienced double-digit revenue growth across iPhones, Macs, and services during the April–June quarter. While global iPhone sales rose 13.4% to $44.6 billion, buoyed by the popular iPhone 16 family, the company’s overall quarterly revenue climbed 10% to $94 billion.

The opening of Apple Hebbal, combined with expanding local manufacturing, signals Apple’s intensified focus on India—both as a growing consumer market and as a vital part of its global supply chain strategy.
