Fintech Giant PhonePe has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of ex-Meta India Public Policy Head Shivnath Thukral as Vice President of Public Policy & Government Affairs.
This development came at a time when the fintech giant is gearing up for its much-anticipated IPO this year.
Shivnath Thukral resigned in June from his role as VP of Public Policy at Meta India after serving for 7 years. He cited his desire to focus on his family and personal interests as the reason for his resignation.
PhonePe founder Sameer Nigam said, “We are delighted to have Shivnath join the PhonePe team. He comes with a rich experience and deep understanding of public policy, regulatory frameworks, and strategic advocacy. I would like to wish him the very best in his new role.”
In the upcoming role at PhonePe, Shivnath will lead relationships and discussions with policymakers and regulators.
PhonePe recently hired bankers, including Kotak Mahindra Capital, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Morgan Stanley, who will serve as lead managers for the IPO, as reported by CNBC.
PhonePe is aiming for a valuation of around $15 billion in its IPO.
