“Air India ignored our safety report and fired us”: Former crew member urges PM Modi to intervene in airline’s dark practices.

Date:

Air India’s Former Crew Members wrote to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the negligence shown by Tata’s airline regarding the failure of the Boeing 878 Dreamliner’s door last year.

Firstly, they were pressured to change their statement, but when they denied it, the airline fired them.

What was the Reported Failure?
Ex-employees claimed the incident occurred on May 14th last year; the flight’s door had malfunctioned as the slide door raft deployed, and the door was opened in “manual mode”. Slide rafts deploy when a door is opened in automatic mode.

Threat by AirIndia
Pilots claimed that they were shocked after reporting this to Air India’s Management and said they were threatened with termination. However, even after facing intense pressure, we refused to change our statement and ultimately lost our job.

The letter also claims that not only Air India but also the government body DGCA suppressed the 14th May Incident, and an informal inquiry was launched.

At last, they wanted PM Modi to intervene in the Airline’s Dark Practices.
