After spending two years in India’s Silicon Valley, a couple decided to move out of the city, despite having loved the weather and enjoyed the vibe of the city.
Ashwin and Aparna, a couple who moved to Bengaluru two years ago, recently shared a video on social media in which they attributed Bengaluru’s increasing pollution and degrading AQI as the primary reasons for their decision.
They claimed to be 27 years old, both working in corporate roles, and started with a proactive line: “You might hate us, but Bangalore is slowly killing us.”
They loved the city’s vibe and its netizens so much. However, over the past few months, they began to notice how they were frequently feeling unwell. “We started falling sick. I developed breathing issues and allergies,” said Ashwin. “And I, who doesn’t even catch a cold, am always coughing and sneezing.”
After noticing these problems regularly, they started adapting a healthier lifestyle, fueled by gym sessions, eating organic food, and using an air purifier.
They explained that in February, they checked the AQI and were shocked to see it stood at 297, which means “hazardous.”
Finally, they concluded by saying, “Our job and our friends are here, but we have to put our health first,” they added.
