Indian Government announced Rs 2.3Cr prize money for cleantech startups

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) on Saturday announced a first-ever scheme for cleantech startups to increase the adoption of rooftop solar in India.

The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) is backing this scheme in collaboration with DPIIT and Startup India.

The scheme consists of a total prize pool of 1 crore rupees. The total prize pool is Rs 2.3 crore, with a first prize of Rs 1 crore, a second prize of Rs 80 lakhs, and a third prize of Rs 50 lakhs. While ten consolation prizes worth Rs 5 lakhs will also be given.

Who can Apply?

Startups operating in the domains of green tech, sustainable energy, AI, IOT, Fintech, Blockchain, and waste management are eligible to apply.

The deadline for submissions is August 20th, and the announcement of the winners will be on September 10th.

Additionally, the challenge will provide various opportunities for incubation, pilot launch, and guidance from industry leaders.
