At the same time, Perplexity AI also made headlines by putting in a huge $34.5 billion offer to buy Google Chrome. The move aims to shake up the online search world, especially while Google is waiting on some big decisions after last year’s antitrust ruling in the US. Perplexity’s bid shows how smaller AI companies are getting bold and stepping into big tech territory, surprising everyone with their ambition.

What People Said

  • Vishal commented on TurboML and PuchAI, saying the switch needs to be studied, and Siddharth simply replied he’d help write a book about it.
  • Aarav said, “$50M company for a gemma 4b fine tuned model?” — and Siddharth replied, “Don’t feel sad, we’ll work harder to make it match the parameters.”
  • Akshay Shah asked why not start small with $250k, and Siddharth joked, “Aloo bhindi thori kharid raha hu.” (I am not buying vegetables here.)

Who is Siddharth Bhatia—and Why Did He went Viral?

Siddharth Bhatia, co-founder and CEO of Puch AI, got famous for posting a unique internship offer online. He announced that Puch AI was looking for two interns—one AI engineer and one “Growth Magician”—with a monthly stipend of up to ₹2 lakh, all remote work. No college degree needed; he even shared they hired a high schooler last month. The offer got lots of attention on social media.

Puch AI is an AI startup that started in June 2025, founded by Bhatia (National University of Singapore) and Arjit Jain (IIT Bombay).

Recently, Perplexity AI has made even more headlines: it launched a special finance feature in India with live stock tracking and free historical data downloads, making it really easy to check Indian stock prices and market info.

Plus, Perplexity now offers video generation with audio for its paid subscribers—just type one prompt, and you get a custom video in under a minute. This move has made Perplexity even more popular in India, with more people using its new tools for news, research, and creative projects.
