VC firm Accel is offering up to $1M to Indian-origin founders along with mentorship.

Date:

Accel, which is one of the world’s most renowned venture capital firms, has expanded its early-stage startup initiative, Accel Atoms, even further. They’ve introduced two new special tracks: Accel Atoms AI and Accel Atoms X.

This step is to enable Indian and Indian-origin entrepreneurs from everywhere in the world to build their startups more quickly with capital, mentorship, and valuable resources.

Funding and Support

Through the program, a chosen startup can receive up to $1 million of funding. This funding can be in the form of an equity investment or an uncapped convertible note, which allows founders to decide what is ideal for their startup.

In addition to funding, founders also receive:

More than $5 million in benefits from large technology partners such as AWS, Google Cloud, Stripe, Notion, and others.

Personal guidance and mentorship from Accel partners and industry leaders.

Assistance with operations, strategy, and a close community of fellow founders.

 About the New Tracks

Accel Atoms AI is designed for AI technology startups. These are startups developing AI models, AI tools, and various AI applications across sectors. Accel partners Prayank Swaroop, Anand Daniel, and Anagh Prasad lead this track.

Accel Atoms X is for startups that are not developing AI but are developing new innovations in industries such as fintech, consumer tech, SaaS, and others. The vision is to back ideas that can scale globally, regardless of the industry.

Why This Is Important

Accel notices how several Indian founders already desire to go global earlier than ever before — particularly in the burgeoning AI field. Going global, however, requires more than capital. Founders require assistance with cross-border operations, market strategy, and regulations across countries.

As Partner at Accel, Prayank Swaroop puts it, “AI might be borderless, but execution isn’t.”

Accel Atoms has backed 40+ early-stage startups since 2021, many of which have since raised larger rounds and become market leaders in their respective spaces.

By starting Atoms AI and Atoms X, Accel is demonstrating its unwavering support for Indian-origin entrepreneurs who aspire to create companies that can compete with the very best in the world from day one.

Accel’s portfolio includes leading startups such as Flipkart, Swiggy, Freshworks, Myntra, BrowserStack, Urban Company, Cult.fit, Vedantu, Moglix, Zolve, and Zetwerk. Internationally, they have funded biggies such as Facebook (Meta), Slack, Dropbox, Spotify, Atlassian, and so on.
