Ather Energy Unveils Pothole Alert, Crash Alert to Enhance Rider Safety

Date:

Bengaluru’s iconic Ather Community Day returned this year with a clear signal that rider safety is ready for a major boost on India’s city roads. Ather community members packed the venue to witness the unveiling of AtherStack 7.0, the latest software advancement from a brand known for pushing boundaries in Indian electric mobility.

The highlight of the event was a live demonstration of Pothole Alerts, a feature that generated real-time excitement among attendees. The system, which leverages crowd-sourced data from thousands of Ather scooters, sends voice notifications the moment a rider approaches a hazardous patch or pothole. Reporters noted the tool’s practical value, with riders calling it a “must-have” for India’s unpredictable urban roads. Data pioneers showed maps dynamically updating in real time for Bengaluru and Pune—proof that Ather’s technology isn’t just theoretical, it’s working now and expanding fast.

Alongside Pothole Alerts, Ather presented Crash Alerts for instant accident detection and automatic location sharing, a move hailed by safety advocates present. Executives walked the media through the updates: the dashboard will now display emergency contact info after an incident and can instantly send the rider’s live coordinates—cutting critical response times.

Digital displays at the event allowed journalists and riders to sample other features arriving via the AtherStack 7.0 OTA update: ParkSafe for warning about risky parking spots, LockSafe for theft detection, cricket score dashboards for cricket-obsessed India, and voice commands for hands-free operation. CTO Swapnil Jain told the press, “By blending AI and connected scooter intelligence, we’re making every ride safer and smarter.”

The event concluded with the announcement that AtherStack 7.0 is backward compatible and will be rolled out to all eligible models, including Rizta Z and 450X Gen 3, ensuring even existing owners benefit from India’s latest EV tech.

Ola Electric Sankalp 2025: Big Reveal at the Gigafactory

Ola Electric’s recent Sankalp 2025 event marked a major milestone as the first public gathering at its Krishnagiri Gigafactory—India’s first lithium-ion cell manufacturing facility. Thousands attended (and tuned in online) as Ola pulled the covers off ambitious expansion plans. The centerpiece was the unveiling of Ola’s “India Inside” vision, doubling down on homegrown manufacturing and tech.

The highlight? Ola’s grand entry into the sports scooter segment, alongside sneak peeks at their upcoming electric motorcycle line and the new AI-powered MoveOS 6 software. From wireless charging scooters (seen at the event) to Krutrim-powered voice assistants, the company is pushing the boundaries of homegrown EV innovation. However, market share has seen tight competition—Ola’s share slid from 19.9% in June to 17.2% in July, narrowing its lead over Ather to only 526 units.
